DG Norm spoke to our club on the 2009-09 theme of Make Dreams Real (for the worlds children). This theme is not a change in direction for Rotary but a call to action on our major initiatives of Health, Hunger, Literacy and Clean Water.

Norm has been involved in The Rotary Club of Brampton since 1991. He is currently a consultant to the Airline industry after his career as a pilot for Air Canada. Some key points on his talk are below:

  •   His wife Elizabeth usually attends with him but is recovering from eye surgery.
  • His career is Airline Consultant. Former pilot.
  • Member of Rotary club of Brampton since 1991.
  • Held several positions in District office until his appt as Dist Governor.
  • Has to attend all 52 clubs in District during his year in office. Also attends club meetings for special events. Likes to visit other clubs.
  • He recognized our club for Community projects and Involvement in Area activities.
  • Theme for 2008/2009 "Make Dreams Real"
  • Focus on reducing preventable childhood deaths under age 5. Causes are malaria, polio, malnutrition, potable water.
  • Approx 10 million deaths per year. But our efforts are helping reduce this rate.
  • Ongoing focus for Rotary is HEALTH, HUNGER, LITERACY, CLEAN WATER.
