Speaker - Dave Geunther Supervisor of Facilities Woodstock YMCA

Dave spoke to us about the upcoming Sweat for Strong Kids fundraiser for the Y. This is an area wide fundraiser but each community keeps the funds raised in their community. The proceeds are used to help the 33% of YMCA members who need financial assistance to cover membership. They do not turn anyone away for lack of money.

You can participate as a corporate sponsor or a participant on a bike. They will set up a tent on the parking lot of Your Neighborhood Credit Union on April 11th from 9am to 1pm. Participants will come down and spin on a stationary bike for 45 minutes and be led by an energetic trainer.

They have room for 90 participants in Woodstock and are aiming for $100 in pledges per person. Each registrant gets 20 day passes to the Y to "practice" for the big day. In 2014 YMCA raised $135,000 with 600 participants and 50 corporate sponsors in SW Ontario. for more information go to Sweat for Strong Kids Homepage
